AA #2

The amazing artists that I'm gonig to share today are both sellers that I have made multiple purchases from. Their shops are great and their customer service is excellent!!!

First off is Deb from Two Cheeky Monkeys. She makes earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, but my favourite thing to buy off her are beautiful hair clips. I have my eye on some of the headbands too!

This is my favourite headband!

And I like this bracelet too!

And the next seller is Carley from Vanilla Pixie. She makes gorgeous hair accessories for little girls. I've bought well over 10 items from her and I've been happy with every one!

And there's no way I could go past the penguins. They are my favourite animal after all!

I suggest you go and check out these sellers - they really sell amazing items!

Wednesday W-I-P #2

Here is my next w-i-p. This will end up being an advent calendar. This one is for my sister and brother-in-law. I made one last year for my family here at home. I also have another one in the works to list on etsy. What do you think? Would you buy one? Sorry the photos aren't so good.

This is the completed one I made last year. Pretty cute, hey??

Progress!!!!!

Mum and I have been working hard on our cross-stitches, and I'm so pleased with our progress. We have both completed two each and are now starting on our third. I'm hoping to complete even more over the next couple of days as of 8:00 tonight I will be embarking on the 40 hour famine. I won't be able to eat, use the phone, computer or television, so I'm thinking I'll have heaps of time for cross-stitching!!!! :)

These ones Mum cross-stitched
And these are my first two
This is my current one I am working on, and if you can work out what the picture is of, I will be very impressed! :)

Creating With Kids

I like to do some sort of craft (be it cooking, making cards, playing a game etc) with my younger siblings on Tuesday afternoons. We do this most Tuesday afternoons apart from the Tuesdays where my brain is totally void of ideas. Last Tuesday we made these cards together. I scored well this time as this required minimal effort from me. I normally manage to choose crafts that require a lot of work from me, but this one was great. You can find the site where I found the idea here.

From left to right: Erin's, Olivia's William's Victoria's (they also go up in age order)
If you have any great ideas for children's craft that use mostly normal type things you could find around the house, please share them! I'm always looking for ideas....

Wednesday W-I-P

I've always enjoyed looking when other blogs did a Wednesday w-i-p (work-in-progress), and so I decided to unashamedly copy the idea. :) I just started working on this last week for a friend who is having twins later in the year. Since she is having twins, that means I need to make 2 of these quilts which means 24 individual squares. Mum kindly offered to help me, so hopefully I shall move through it slightly faster.

This is my first one - now if you use your imagination, you should be able to picture in the big blue blob on the left Mother Rabbit. The big pink blob in the middle are Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, and the small blue blob on the right is Peter. Can you picture it?? :)

This is the back of the pattern with the 12 different squares that we need to make. I'll continue to keep you updated on my progress, thoughy probably not every week - that could get very boring!!!

Stay tuned for next week's w-i-p - it will probably be something Christmassy!

Artists Anyday

I decided to start something on my blog called Artists Anyday. This just means that on random days of the week, I will put up pictures of some of my favourite handmade artists (not artists as in only drawing artists but artists as in very clever people who make things artists :) ) Today I have two - the first being LittleMo And Friends. Helena who runs Little Mo and Friends designs beautiful letter writing sets, journals, and even paper dolls. I would recommend you check out her shop and have a look around. It's really cute!

The next artist is Paper By Forgetmenot. Kirsten who runs Paper By Forgetmenot makes the most gorgeous notelets, lovely stationery sets, and many other little knick-knacks. I think Kirsten is the person I have bought the most from on etsy. Every time my order comes beautifully packaged and all the products are of the highest quality. Please check out her shop - you won't be disappointed!

Which One Would You Choose?

I purchased a new pattern recently. Once I had made one item from it, I just couldn't stop. :) For starters the skirts are long, modest skirts - always a winner!, and the dresses are long too and with a t-shirt or a skivvy underneath, they're good too, especially as they can be worn in both summer and winter! I can make up to size 8, but the largest I have made so far is 4. Anyway,  as you will see below I've made quite a few, and I'm wondering which one is your favourite! My favourite is the black skirt, and someone must have agreed with me as they bought it! :)

Black and white skirt - Size 2

Maroon skirts - Size 2

These last ones I made for one of my nieces and one of my sisters. They love them! And they look so cute matching too!

Craft-fair purchases

This weekend in Canberra is the annual craft and quilt fair. Yesterday some of my sisters and I went along and had a look around. I've been before, and every time I go, I come home inspired to create something wonderful! I made some purchases - some of which will be used to create new listings in my etsy store, but others are for gifts. As you can see, I bought 3 beautiful Christmas fabrics to finish an advent calendar I'm making, a Melly & Me pattern to make some gorgeous hobby-horses, and some cross-stitch material to make a gift with.
One of my younger sisters is very excited about the possiblilty of having her own handmade hobby-horse, but I'm also thinking of listing them on etsy and madeit too. What do you think? I'm just not sure about postage. They could be heavyish to send, I suppose.

I'm already looking forward to next year's craft fair!

Well Here I Am....

I'm here - where I never thought I'd be just a short year ago. But things have changed, and I decided that starting a blog might help my etsy store a bit. So I'm putting myself on trial, and if after 12 months I haven't noticed any difference, and I feel like it is a bit of a waste of time, this blog will disappear. I do plan to make it succeed, Lord willing,  and I'm hoping all my readers (who btw don't even exist yet) :) will help me out. Feel free to leave feedback - I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing yet, so any help will be appreciated. Oh, and if you have no interest in craft at all, I probably wouldn't waste your time reading this blog. For all family happenings or even to find out more about my family, you'll have to read my sister's blog. I already have a few ideas for posts whirling around in my head, but they will have to wait for another day!
