If I Can't Be At The Sewing Machine......

I'd like to be creating floral arrangements (or with my head in a book) :)

I had the opportunity to put together an arrangement of flowers on the weekend.

This is what I started out with

This is my bowl ready for flowers to be put into

And this is the finished product. There is always a point when I'm putting arrangements together where I start to panic that it's all going to be a flop and look really ugly. Thankfully, it wasn't the case this time. I was reasonably happy with how it turned out.

Now I'm hanging out until I can do it all over again. I find floristry so therapeutic! :)

MARKETS!!!!

Yesterday I went for an "interview" with the Old Bus Depot Markets. By an interview, all I mean is they wanted to look at my products to see if they were of decent quality, so that I can have a stall at the markets. I was quite nervous because I thought what if they tell me no they're not good enough. That could be quite discouraging! We were driving along listening to Chris Tomlin when the words "Not to us but to Your name be the glory". Then it all hit home to me - this is not about my glory, it's about God's. If I had been rejected, God's purposes would still have been at work, and it would have been for His glory!

                                                                       Girl's summer dress

ANYWAY,  I was accepted which I am very thankful for. As I can't do Sundays, the only markets they run on Saturdays are in December. So I shall have to wait until December to actually do a real market. That gives me plenty of time to prepare though. I'm not sure which days I'll be doing yet, but hopefully at least one in December.  I'll keep you updated as to the final date, and if you're free, you should come along and take a look! I'm getting excited!!!

I love to....

READ!!

One of my other favourite things to do apart from sewing is to read. I haven't really been reading that much due to pressing projects, but I decide to change that yesterday and picked up a book I had borrowed from the library - "John Caldigate" by Anthony Trollope. I have read others of Trollope's books and enjoyed them, so I decided to give this one a go. It's good so far - a book that draws you in before you have read 5 pages.

What about you? Do you enjoy reading? Have you read any of Trollope's books before?

It's Giveaway Time!!

I have decided to run giveaways which will be monthly hopefully! (fingers crossed on that one) I'm hoping this will help me get my store "out there" more and who doesn't love a freebie??

The freebie today I could have almost kept for myself. I think his (or her) eyes would melt your heart. :) This gorgeous hobby horse would win any  little childs' heart. It stands 36in tall and is made out of 100% cotton material. This giveaway will close at noon on Wednesday the 15th of September! Giveaway open to Australian residents only.

Now how to enter!

Just leave a comment telling me who you would give this to if you won.

For an extra entry, mention my giveaway on your own blog, and then come back and leave the link in a second comment.

Happy commenting!!!
